Each year, we publish top essay submissions from select courses of the second, third and fourth year of the program. Our topics focus on issues management, crisis communication and political discourse.

Students choose an organization facing a risk or crisis and create a case study discussing the organization’s communication strategy, including suggestions for stabilizing the organization’s reputation.

Third-year public relations students at Mount Royal University complete this in-depth political research paper in (PUBR 3860) Government Public Relations (GPR).
Students are asked, “What do you think is the most important political issue facing Canadians today?” to generate objective analysis about a current topic as it relates to GPR or Government Relations.

Second-year public relations students at Mount Royal University complete this organizational issue backgrounder and SWOT analysis in (PUBR 2845) Financial Public Relations.
Students choose an organizational issue and analyze it from an investor or stakeholder prospective. Using the SWOT analysis framework, students examine internal and external factors related to the issue.
