Risk Communication Essays

The Risk Communication essays were completed in one of Mount Royal University public relations program's fourth-year classes focusing on contemporary risk and crisis communication case studies (currently known as PUBR 4860). The papers were available for voluntary review by the Calgary Emergency Management Agency (CEMA) based on a partnership with the PR department, which allows the top papers to be presented to CEMA.

These research papers were completed as part of one of Mount Royal University's third-year public relations classes, which focuses on government public relations and Canadian political communication (currently PUBR 3860). The papers are among the first full research papers that the PR students complete during their degree, taking over a month to individually select a topic upon which to write, research, edit and review prior to submission.

Issue Backgrounders

The issue backgrounders selected and published on this page were developed in the second-year financial public relations course (currently PUBR 2845) as part of Mount Royal University's public relations program. Students select an organization to analyze in terms of issues of importance to investors and connected stakeholders. Students then offer suggestion and recommendations for dealing with the issue to stabilize or increase the reputation of the organization.
